Faculty Resources

Marine and Coastal Opportunities (MACO)  assists faculty and academic units in expanding coastal course offerings and experiential learning experiences. Our goal is to empower faculty to leverage the unique educational resources at the Oregon coast and to develop hands-on experiences that broaden student access to high-impact learning.

We are here to help bring your course vision to life.

Academic Development Support for Coastal Experiential Learning

MACO provides strategic support and guidance that help faculty develop both credit-bearing courses and additional hands-on experiences—such as field intensives, short courses, workshops, internships, and outreach-based programs—that broaden student access to high-impact learning.

MACO focuses on course planning, development, and logistics prior to arrival, and then partners with Hatfield’s instructional and student support staff, who provide on-site assistance in field and laboratory settings, housing, and student services. This collaboration ensures effective preparation and delivery of coastal and field-based learning while fostering meaningful integration of faculty and students into the Hatfield community.

We are here to help you bring your course vision to life.
