Coastal Travel Assistance

MACO supports the cost of transportation to and from the Hatfield Marine Science Center on the Coast to Valley Express. The Coast to Valley Express shuttle travels from the central valley to Newport and back, 4 trips daily, with multiple pick-up locations including OSU's McNary Hall. Tickets are awarded on a first-come first-serve basis. Please apply early as tickets are in high demand.

 

NOTICE: There are no remaining tickets for the Fall 2024 term. Applications for the Winter 2025 term open Monday, December 30, 2025 (one week prior to the start of term).

Eligibility

Tickets are supported for qualifying purposes, including classes, field trips, tours, lectures, events, and other degree-supporting work at Hatfield Marine Science Center. 

The following people are all eligible to apply:

  • OSU undergraduate students
  • OSU graduate students

Printed tickets given out by MACO do not expire.

How to Apply

Email [email protected] using your Oregon State University email address and submit:

  • Your full name

  • Major or position title

  • Your status at OSU (undergraduate or graduate student)

  • Your Unit, Program, or Lab name

  • Purpose of the visit(s)

  • Date(s) of tickets needed

  • Number of one-way tickets requested 

*Note: You may apply for a maximum of 20 one-way tickets per term. Tickets are given out in two 10-ticket batches as supplies last. Ticket applications for a specific term open (1) week prior to the start of that term.

Requests must be received at least 5 business days before travel.
