Explore Marine-Related Minors

Adding a marine-related minor gives you the opportunity to explore additional learning experiences. With eight minors related to the oceans and coasts, you can choose the marine minors that best suit your interests.

Put the Ocean in Your Major

Whatever your major— arts, humanities, business, engineering, or earth, life, and social sciences— you can gain experience in coastal and ocean issues with a minor to expand your learning experience. All minors provide opportunity for students to visit and learn at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, Oregon, as well as in diverse coastal and ocean habitats in the Pacific Northwest

The Marine Studies minor provides an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of the dynamic interconnectedness of human cultures, literature and philosophy, and the social sciences within marine and coastal spaces.

The Earth Sciences minor is designed for students who have a broad interest in Earth Sciences. Earth Science majors and Environmental Sciences majors are restricted from taking this minor. View minor requirements
