About Us

Marine and Coastal Opportunities (MACO) empowers Oregon State University students and faculty to engage meaningfully with the Oregon Coast through immersive, place-based learning that bridges academic inquiry with applied experience.

Our Mission

As OSU’s strategic facilitator of coastal experiential learning, MACO supports interdisciplinary teaching, research, and community engagement focused on coastal and ocean systems. MACO coordinates with OSU’s field campus—the Hatfield Marine Science Center—and academic departments to ensure faculty and students have access to academic programming, teaching and research spaces, housing, and student life resources for a safe and connected experience.
